What should I do (if anything) about my unprofessional and unhygienic coworker?
My desk is next to my coworker "adnil's" desk. She coughs and sneezes all day without getting up to wash her hands, readjusts the phlegm in her throat constantly but never gets rid of it, clips her nails (I even caught her clipping her toe nails one day), tugs/removes her cuticles with the scissors that she keeps at her desk, reads the daily newspapers (2) cover to cover, knits, sleeps, and eats at her desk. She doesn't put people on hold when transferring calls, she doesn't know basic timeroll codes (part of her job description), when she doesn't have an answer for someone with a question she doesn't refer them to anyone else or try to find the answer.....the list goes on and on. There are times that her unprofessionalism does affect my work. I have to "fix" things that she has attempted to do which only creates more work for me. Several people have come to our office, spoken with her and then come to me and said "What's her problem?" or "What's up with her?".....It's embaring. And my boss is well aware of all of these problems and the dozens I didn't write. Unfortunately, he just isn't a good manager and isn't willing to address the problem. He has said that he doesn't want to "deal" with it. What can I do? Besides the hygiene issue, it's demoralizing. Her behavior makes me not want to be at work. Is there any hope that my boss will see that her behavior is unnacceptable and unfair and will do something about it? Help!!!!!!!!!
