I am having a pain in the lower part of my abdomen on the left side.?

Does anyone know what these symptoms could be? I am having pain in the lower part of my abdomen on the left side and it travels through to my back. I have had bouts of constipation in the past but am confident that I am not at this time as I take Miralax daily. The pain is a dull and aching most of the time but there are times when it is sharp and jabbing. Oh, and I have had a complete hysterectomy so it does not have anything to do with that part of my anatomy and I don't have kidney stones. Any ideas?
