How to get this hair length back?

Okay so I got my hair cut an inch past my shoulders last year in august and by this may it was like 3 or 4 inches down my back.I just got it cut shoulder length and by next august i want long hair again for high school.Ps my hair does NOT grow half an inch a month.Help?
